Film & video

Newspapers, radio and television report frequently on the latest developments in the Princess Máxima Center, besides which our Center regularly commissions video/film productions itself.

Here you find a selection of the videos characteristic to the Princess Máxima Center. Our pediatric oncology center will be shown from different angles.

The Why
A brief but comprehensive explanation of the importance of one pediatric oncology center where care and research join forces. By the board of directors of the Princess Máxima Center: Rob Pieters, Hans Clevers (former scientific director) and Diana Monissen (former chair).

Take a look at our center!

The Máxima through the eyes of Saméo
Saméo is treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the Princess Máxima Center. He always had the wish to show that children with cancer are more than sick children and wants to give them a sense of recognition, says his mother Saskia in the video below. Saméo takes us for an impression of the center and shows us what is happening here.

‘Heroes of the Máxima’
In the three-part AVROTROS series ‘Heroes of the maxima’ a unique insight is given behind the scenes of the Princess Máxima Center. Day and night, the staff are on standby for children with cancer, making the difference between life and death. For this series, a number of employees were followed during their work at the center.

A look into the world of childhood cancer
In the run-up to International childhood cancer day 2020, our ambassadors take you on a journey into the world of childhood cancer. In the video below Robert Doornbos and parents Gerrion, Kees, Jarno and Kelly share their story. What does it do to you as a parent when your child is diagnosed with cancer? And what can adults learn from their children in that process? The other videos with our ambassadors Bas Smit, Chantal Janzen, Maan, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano can be seen hier

‘Chantal Komt Werken’
Chantal Janzen spent a day with the nurses at the Princess Máxima Center for her tv show ‘Chantal Komt Werken’ (Chantal comes to work). She meets patients and she expresses her appreciation to the nurses from whom she learned that day.
