Prinses Máxima Centrum

Photo report: Science Weekend

On Sunday October 6th, the Princess Máxima Center was open during the Science Weekend. Over 300 people visited the center to learn more about our research department.
Visitors worked as real scientists, which mostly meant playing in the lab with weird stuff.
Visitors were also challenged to participare in the serious DROP-study - resulting is a scientific publication about the conclusion of their research: Which liquorice is the best?
With candy they built their own DNA. Those with blond hair need another gumball than those with black hair.
Some patients react very well to treatment, while others are not cured. Leukemia cells may have different characteristics. Different medication is needed.
What is the difference between healthy and sick cells? The visitors saw the differences themselves under the microscope.
