Frequently asked questions about clonal hematopoiesis after stem cell transplant
In a new study, researchers found that stem cell transplantation may lead to a higher risk of clonal hematopoiesis. In 23 of 144 survivors, or 16% percent, the researchers diagnosed clonal hematopoiesis, compared with 8% of individuals in the untransplanted control group. What this means for health is still unknown and the subject of a follow-up study.
