József Zsiros
Pediatric oncologist
About me
I am a pediatric oncologist involved in the care of children with solid tumors, with a special interest in liver tumors, germ cell tumors, malignant tumors of the gonads (ovary and testis), melanomas, tumors of the endocrine organs (such as the thyroid) and other less common childhood tumors.
I chair the solid tumor board, a multidisciplinary meeting where all patients are discussed and decisions are made about diagnostics and treatment.
I also chair the SKION rare tumors committee, which develops the diagnostic and treatment guidelines for children with liver tumors, germ cell and gonadal tumors, skin tumors, endocrine tumors and other rare tumors. In addition, I lead the clinical research group for these conditions, referred to as the ‘rare tumors group’.
We work closely with the laboratory and research groups at the Princess Máxima Center, as well as with many experts worldwide, to develop better therapies for children with these types of cancer.
