Prinses Máxima Centrum

Detour to the Princess Máxima Center on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October

On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October, you can reach the Princess Máxima Center via a detour. Roadworks are taking place on the Hoofddijk, our access road. The roadside is being reinforced and widened because deep potholes have formed. Below you can read how to reach the Máxima Center by car, bicycle, or public transport.

Phase 1: Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October

During these days, part of the Hoofddijk will be closed. Cars, trucks, and cyclists will be diverted via Utrecht Science Park.

By car:
Follow the detour via Universiteitsweg – Bolognalaan – Yalelaan – Münsterlaan. Traffic controllers will be present at several points.

Important to know:

  • To the Máxima Center: follow route B
  • Back toward the highway: follow route A

For cyclists:
Traffic controllers will direct cyclists via the Wilhelmina Children’s Hospital (WKZ). At the Nijntje traffic lights, cross the tram and bus lane while walking your bike.

Public transport:
Buses and trams will run according to their regular schedule.

Phase 2: Later this week

Later this week, work will take place on another section of the Hoofddijk. The Máxima Center will then be accessible via the usual route.
There will be a temporary detour for traffic to and from the childcare center and for cyclists coming from Bunnik and Zeist.
