Connection bridge Princess Máxima Center wins World of Color Award 2018

The connection bridge of the Princess Máxima Center has won the Vanceva® World of Color Award™ 2018 in the category exterior. The 160-meter long bridge shines in many colors and consists of approximately 650 different colored glass panels. The jury has convinced the playful and lively way in which the bridge connects the Princess Máxima Center and the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital.
The connecting bridge meanders between the second floor of the Princess Máxima Center and the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital. The connecting bridge not only acts as a link between the operating rooms in the hospital and the care departments in the pediatric oncology center, but also allows the use of pneumatic post between the laboratories of both institutions. This way they can make optimum use of each other's facilities.

LIAG architects and building consultants is the architect of the new building of the Princess Máxima Center and has designed the connecting bridge. On the website of Liag more information about the connecting bridge and a video of the winning project.
